Human Osteopathy
What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy takes a holistic person-centered approach, I will consider how your environment, psychological and social factors may be contributing to your complaint. I do this by evaluating your symptoms through a thorough case history before assessing you to understand the root cause of your pain.
The hands-on treatment modalities I use range between, joint articulation manipulations, soft tissue work, passive stretching, visceral and cranial techniques. My goal is to reduce any tensions I may find in order to encourage your body’s natural ability to maintain and restore health.
I aim to work in partnership with you, to find an adapted treatment plan as well as management solutions for you to apply beyond the appointment.
In the UK, osteopaths are primary healthcare professionals, meaning you do not need to get a GP referral to see me.

Paediatric Osteopathy
Osteopathy is suitable and safe at any age, including babies. I evaluate your baby's posture as well as the way their joints, muscles and ligaments behave. Restricted or tense areas can often impact how the body moves and develops, which can cause an unsettled baby who has trouble sleeping or feeding.
Osteopathy is a gentle and non-invasive tailored treatment option for growing babies.
Why do parents bring their babies to see an osteopath:
For a general check-up following birth
Difficulty settling after feeding
Baby looks stiff or uncomfortable
Inability to lie on their back or stomach
Feeding difficulties (shallow latch or issues with latching)
Reoccurring reflux
Upset stomach, gas or irregular nappies
Crying when changing diaper/clothes
What will happen during the appointment?
During the initial consultation, I will begin by asking the parents about the pregnancy, the birth history, general health and any specific concerns you would like to discuss about your baby
I will then assess your baby’s posture & movements, including reflexes and muscle tone. Treatment includes gentle techniques to head, viscera or limbs to release any tensions found during the assessment.
At the end of the appointment, I may advise on sleeping postures, feeding holds and exercises you can do with your baby to aid development and ensure your baby is comfortable.
What does an osteopath treat?
Before treating I will examine and assess your posture, gait and specific movements to help me understand the origin of the pain and therefore safely treat it. In some cases, I may refer you back to your registered GP if I believe you require further investigations.
